Chef Antonio Rucco dies aged 39

Chef Antonio Rucco has died aged 39, the chef was well-known for his popular Antonio’s Vegan Kitchen restaurant in Bethnal Green.

Rucco’s restaurant opened last summer and quickly became one of London’s best-known vegan restaurants. The chef’s death was announced by the restaurant on its social media channels, and the restaurant will close as a result. Many fans of the restaurant and friends of Rucco have taken to social media to express their condolences with one describing the chef as “a kind man who was deeply passionate about his craft”.

An Antonio’s Vegan Kitchen statement, read: “It is with great sadness that we must announce our chef and owner Antonio passed away on Tuesday. The restaurant will be closed permanently and we thank you for your love and support at this time.”
