Compass Group UK&I appoints new HR director
Hilary Goldby will report to B&I chief executive Morag Freathy and Laraine Kemp, the people director at Compass Group UK&I, to ‘ensure cohesion with wider strategy’

Compass Group UK&I has announced the appointment of Hilary Goldby as its new HR director of its Business and Industry division.
Goldby, who joins with 19 years of experience in the HR area across multiple sectors, has previously worked at Tesco, GEOAmey and Dixons Carphone.
Compass Group’s B&I division includes contract caterers Eurest and Dine, together with integrated FM provider 14forty, led by CEO Morag Freathy.
In her new role, Goldby will report to Freathy and Laraine Kemp, the people director at Compass Group UK&I, to “ensure cohesion with wider strategy”.
Freathy said: “This is an exciting appointment at an important time for the business and underlines our determination to put people at the heart of everything we do.
“We have ambitious plans and Hilary’s experience and strategic acumen are going to be crucial in helping achieve our goals.”
Having already begun analysing how the group’s people agenda can sit “at the heart of delivering excellence”, Goldby will contribute to the company’s five-year strategy Social Promise.
Compass Group UK&I recently committed to supporting one million people from both inside and outside the organisation by 2030 through its ‘Mission to a Million’ campaign. The company is working to enhance people’s opportunities and change lives through job creation, education, training, community and charitable engagement.
Goldby added: “I’ve spent time in a lot of businesses of different types across retail, contracting, supply chain and distribution, which has given me a broad view of people’s strategies.
“I wanted to come to a business that was both people-centric and ambitious, and I’ve found that in Compass B&I. My role is to nurture and motivate our teams, which will in turn ensure we have the best people with the skills to deliver for the business. It’s an exciting remit.”
