SSP Group has announced the appointment of Ann-Marie Murphy as its new chief people officer.
She joins from The Gym Group, where she was chief operations officer. She has been with the gym operator since 2018, initially in the role of director of people and development. She was later promoted to chief people officer, where she set up the company’s people function, designing and delivering strategies for talent, L&D, performance, inclusion and reward.
Prior to that, Murphy was group human resources director at New Look, where she also established the global HR function.
Patrick Coveney, chief executive of SSP, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ann-marie into the SSP family. With her extensive sector and international experience and track record of developing and implementing people strategies, she will prove a great addition to both our Group executive and people leadership teams.
“We have an exciting people and cultural agenda ahead, and I am confident that Ann-marie has the experience, leadership skills and personality to support, shape and drive that journey.”
Murphy added: “With more than 40,000 colleagues across 36 countries around the world, it’s clear to me that people are at the heart of SSP’s business. I’m delighted to be joining such a well-regarded global business and management team at this exciting time in the company’s onward journey.”
