The Savoy appoints Anne Lomas as director of restaurants

The Savoy has announced that Anne Lomas has been appointed director of restaurants at the London hotel.

Formerly general manager at Simpson’s in the Strand, Anne Lomas will oversee The Savoy’s restaurants – Kaspar’s at The Savoy, Thames Foyer, and Simpson’s in the Strand, along with in-room dining. Lomas will also support the other food venues and undertake further responsibilities within the broader food and beverage department at The Savoy.

Raoul Duclos, director of operations at The Savoy, said: “Anne is a positive and gregarious individual who has shown herself to be an incredible leader as general manager of Simpson’s in the Strand over the past two years.

Lomas began working in hospitality aged eighteen, whilst travelling in New Zealand, she took a job at a wine bar and rose to the position of manager. Following a move to London, Lomas worked at Nicolas Wine Merchant in Canary Wharf, before becoming head sommelier at Roast. She has also worked at 45 Park Lane, Shangri-La at the Shard, and ING Restaurant.

Lomas was appointed as the first female general manager at Simpson’s in the Strand, 35 years after women were first allowed to dine at the restaurant.
