Various Eateries appoints interim CFO

Various Eateries has announced that James Darwent is joining its board as director with immediate effect, where he will act as interim CFO following the news Oli Williams has stepped down from the role.
According to the company, Darwent has been working alongside Williams since joining the company on 26 September 2022 to “ensure a smooth transition”.
Darwent has over 15 years’ experience working in private equity backed businesses and has previously held roles at Big Table Group and Casual Dining Group as finance director (non-board positions).
Prior to this, he held the role of global head of finance at All Saints Retail Limited. He previously qualified as a certified accountant at Pannell Kerr Forster, now BDO, in 1992.
Various Eateries owns, develops and operates restaurant, clubhouse and hotel sites in the UK, and is led by a senior team including Andy Bassadone (executive chairman), Hugh Osmond (founder), Yishay Malkov (CEO) and Matt Fanthorpe (chef director, a non-board position).
