Former Groucho Club MD launches The Bar at Sloane Place
Tuesday night (4 June) saw the launch of The Bar at Sloane Place, the newest offering by award winning executive chef Bernhard Mayer and Matt Hobbs, former managing director of The Groucho Club.
Ashley James and Made in Chelsea’s Alex Mytton DJed at the event, while guests were treated to cocktails,beef teriyaki gyoza and lamb koftas. Made in Chelsea cast members Jamie Lang, Emily Blackwell and TV presenter Hayley Palmer were also in attendance.
The interiors were designed by JSJ Design and feature a millennial pink scalloped bar seating paired with emerald green tiles and gold accents.
Head mixologist Wilfried Comoe and Mayer will oversee all aspects surrounding The Bar. There is an all-day dining menu that celebrates quality ingredients showcased in healthy and simple dishes alongside an extensive drinks’ menu. Dishes include crispy squid with black garlic aioli and fresh lime, beef teriyaki gyoza with teriyaki dip and roasted padron peppers with sauce vierge and toasted almonds.
Drinks include in a pear whisky sour with Famous Grouse, Poire William, pear puree, lime juice, sugar syrup and angostura bitters, a classic champagne cocktail with champagne Marie Demets, Courvoisier VS, angostura bitters and brown sugar and an elderflower collins with 12.5 Tanqueray, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, sugar syrup and soda water.
The Bar will also feature a live DJ every weekend and the Vaults within The Bar provide guests with private dining for up to 20 people on banquette seating. It can also be hired exclusively for up to 60 people.
The Bar at Sloane Place follows the recent launch of Sloane Place, the new restaurant and hotel by Matt Hobbs and Bernhard Mayer.
