New Britannia in Preston unveils £138k refurb

As part of the refurbishment, the New Britannia now has a new illuminated dartboard, as well as six large televisions showing BT and Sky Sports

The historic local pub, the New Britannia in Preston, has unveiled its new look after an investment of £138k was made to restore the property. 

It is reported that a complete overhaul of the pub’s appearance has been made, while also maintaining the New Britannia’s 180-year-old charm for guests to “experience a new but recognisable feel when visiting this community pub”.

In addition, the venue’s beer garden has new lighting, AstroTurf, and a new colour scheme. 

The New Britannia is part of the “award-winning” Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the ‘Best Community Operator’ at the 2022 Publican Awards.

Adam Leyland, licensee at the New Britannia, said: “We’re all so happy with the refurbishment and new look of the pub. This is a new chapter for the venue and we’re all looking forward to restoring the electric atmosphere, which this pub is well known for.

“Guest’s feedback so far has been great and they are really enjoying our new look. If you haven’t had a chance yet, Sharon and I would love to see you here at the New Britannia and enjoy an evening with us.”

He added: “We have lots of exciting events planned, including fundraisers for charities. On Saturday 17 September, we will be running a quiz to raise funds for Motor Neuron Diseases Association, a cause which is very close to my heart, whilst we also look to help Macmillan Cancer Support, through our future events.”
