Proper Pubs launches ‘Meet the Team’ initiative

Pubs hosting an upcoming open day include the Cossham Inn in Bristol, the New Griffin in Hull, The Queens in Bredbrury and the Cros Foxes in Pentre Broughton

Proper Pubs, a wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns, has launched a brand-new ‘Meet the Team’ initiative to address the nationwide hospitality recruitment issue.

Since the end of July, Proper Pubs has been hosting a series of open days at several of its sites across the country to combat this issue.

The events are designed to offer insight into running a community pub and to highlight the benefits of working within the hospitality industry.

Ceri Radford, head of recruitment at Admiral Taverns, said: “I am delighted that we have launched this initiative to showcase what Proper Pubs is all about and what we can offer prospective operators.

“With the pub and brewing industries alone supporting almost one million jobs across the UK, there is so much potential for those interested in running a community pub and this provides a great opportunity for anyone considering running their own pub to learn more about what it is like working with Proper Pubs. No experience is necessary and we look forward to welcoming visitors from across the country.”

Esther Ryan, operator at The Church Inn in Lowton, added: “Since attending one of Proper Pubs’ open days, I made the decision to take on a site – alongside my partner, Jason – and recently came to the helm of the Church Inn in Lowton. We took over the pub back in July following an incredible £265,000 refurbishment and it’s been an incredible experience.”
