The Spotted Dog reopens following a six-figure investment
Externally, a new raised decking area with five sheltered heated booths has been added to the beer garden
Dorking-based pub The Spotted Dog has reopened following a six-figure investment, with the renovations leading to an increase in capacity by 130.
The venue closed its doors on 20 October 2024 for the transformation, with two months of extensive work taking place behind the scenes to introduce new features.
Situated on South Street, the pub has launched a brand-new drinks menu. The pub also boasts an extensive choice of no and low alcohol offerings, ensuring all guests are accommodated throughout Dry January and beyond. The pub will also launch a food menu in Spring 2025.
The pub interiors feature a refreshed layout and “pristine” lighting, complemented by furniture that adds to the “homely charm”. The renovation also includes the installation of brand-new toilets.
Externally, a new raised decking area with five sheltered heated booths has been added to the beer garden.
Meanwhile, commonly regarded as the best beer garden in Dorking, the outdoor space has recently increased its capacity by 100.
The Spotted Dog boasts regular live musical performances alongside monthly Quiz Nights on the last Thursday of every month.
Additionally, the pub raises money for local causes with a recent £96 donation to the JP8 Charitable Trust.
Brian Coughlan, publican at The Spotted Dog, said: “We’ve been working hard behind the scenes for the past few months on the renovation works, and it’s been great to welcome guests, both old and new, back to our beloved pub.
“The feedback we’ve received from our guests about how much they love the improved beer garden and all the new features we’ve invested in has been brilliant to hear. We know the work completed has not only enhanced our warm and welcoming atmosphere but also strengthened the pub’s community spirit, which was at the heart of our thoughts during the investment.”
