Wetherspoons to serve 99p pints in January sale

A pint of Bud Light, Stowford Press Dark Berry Cider and also Stowford Press Apple Cider will cost £1.69 a pint

Wetherspoon pubs are reducing the price of a wide selection of drinks and food in its January Sale. Price cuts started yesterday (3 January) and will last until 17 January. 

As a result, at 810 of the company’s pubs across the UK, coffee and soft drinks will cost 99p.

Meanwhile, at more than 560 of the company’s pubs, in addition to coffee and soft drinks at 99p, Ruddles Best will be available for 99p a pint. In Scotland and Wales, due to licensing laws, the real ale on offer will cost £1.10 a pint.

A pint of Bud Light, Stowford Press Dark Berry Cider and also Stowford Press Apple Cider will cost £1.69 a pint. Carlsberg will be on sale at £1.99 a pint and Guinness at £2.89 a pint.

In addition, a selection of low and no alcohol bottled beers will cost £1.49.

Customers will also be saving on food, with offers on MOMA porridge, breakfast muffin and breakfast wrap. All of the breakfast deals will still include coffee, tea or hot chocolate and are served until 11.30am each day.

At 640 of the company’s pubs, MOMA porridge will cost £1.49, breakfast muffins with a hot drink will be £1.99 and breakfast wrap with a hot drink will be £2.49. A 3oz burger, served with chips and a soft drink will cost £4.49 in the January sale.

Tim Martin, founder and chairman of Wetherspoon, said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pub too. The range of drinks and food on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. 

“This year we have included our biggest selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks and I believe that the January Sale will prove popular with our customers. As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly.”
