BBPA appoints new director of communications external affairs

Shraddha Kaul joins the organisation from the British Poultry Council

The British Beer and Pub Association has appointed Shraddha Kaul as its new director of communications and external affairs.

Kaul joins the organisation, which represents UK pubs and brewers, from the British Poultry Council where she achieved a landmark policy win from the Government in the form of a new visa regime.

She moved to the UK from India aged 19 to study, and pursue a career in journalism and has since gained experience leading successful external affairs campaigns across the public, private and third sectors.

She said: “I am very passionate about the power of pubs in driving social cohesion, tackling isolation and creating happier communities, and I’m delighted to join the BBPA at a time when British pubs and breweries need urgent support from Government to not only survive but thrive in the years to come.

“I am looking forward to working alongside our members to raise the profile of the UK’s pubs and breweries both to Government and in the media and championing business critical issues including crucial reform to beer duty and business rates.”

Emma McClarkin, chief executive of the British Beer and Pub Association, said: “We are excited for Shraddha to join our team and support the BBPA to continue to be the voice of brewers and pubs.

“Shraddha brings with her a wealth of experience across industries and sectors that have faced similar challenges to our own and proven she is expert in navigating tough times and developing creative solutions.”
