Big Table Group sales hit £206.2m in FY22
During FY22, the business grew from 149 sites at the start of the year to 163 total branches by 30 October 2022
Big Table Group revealed that full sales reached £206.2m in the 12 months to 30 October 2022, an increase from £142.1m in the previous year, despite Covid restrictions, energy and food price inflation, and the end of business rates concessions.
The group, which operates Las Iguanas, Bella Italia, Café Rouge, Banana Tree and Amalfi, also hit an adjusted EBITDA of £12.9m from £5.9m in FY21.
During FY22, the business grew from 149 sites at the start of the year to 163 total branches by 30 October.
According to the group, it has continued its “encouraging” performance in the first half of FY23 – November 2022 to April 2023 – with sales increasing 9% year-on-year.
In addition, due to the group’s continued focus on labour and cost controls, its trading EBITDA is “well-ahead” of the prior year and ahead of expectations, even after accounting for significant additional energy costs.
Alan Morgan, CEO of Big Table Group, said: “Our full-year results to October 2022 paint a picture of a resilient, efficient business which has been able to withstand significant economic headwinds.
“Whilst we expect the wider hospitality sector to continue to be challenged in the short to medium term, we have a strong balance sheet and are not exposed to the increasing cost of debt that other operators in the sector may be facing.”
He added: “We remain confident that the group will navigate those challenges and take advantage of the longer term opportunities we have to capitalise on demand for our growth brands, taking them to more guests in more locations.”
