Bingham Riverhouse appoints new head chef
Sam Monastyrskyj was most recently working as a private chef and joins the team as they develop the food offering
Steven Edwards has announced the appointment of Sam Monastyrskyj as head chef at his Bingham Riverhouse restaurant in Richmond.
Monastyrskyj was most recently working as a private chef and joins the team as they develop the food offering.
He originally turned down a place at university in order to become a chef and enrolled at Aylesbury College where he achieved NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery.
Upon graduating, he secured a position as demi chef de partie at Waddesdon Manor, before moving to the French and Austrian Alps and then to the south of France where he worked as a private chef.
He returned to the UK in April 2015 where he spent a summer working as a private chef in Mallorca, followed by head chef positions in various restaurants including the Five Arrows Hotel and the Waddesdon Estate.
Monastyrskyj said: “I am delighted to be working with Steven on this incredibly exciting project at the Bingham Riverhouse. We share a very similar style and ethos towards cooking and food in general.
“Using the very best British produce that we can get our hands on, only when it’s at its absolute peak. We have some great ideas of where we want to take things, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the journey.”
Edwards added: “It is a pleasure to appoint Sam as head chef, we share the same food philosophy of creating British dishes, using seasonal produce and herbs to emphasise two main ingredients. I look forward to working together with Sam to push the food forward at the Bingham Riverhouse.
