Blu Lobster announces closure of Hartlepool site

Hartlepool-based seafood restaurant The Blu Lobster has announced its closure.

The restaurant situated on The Front, Seaton Carew occupied the first floor of the building above fish and chip shop Fish Face, which is still trading.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the restaurant thanked its staff and customers for the support during the last 14 months.

The post said: “We are very sad to announce that from today, we will be closing the Blue Lobster, and would like to take this opportunity of thanking all our staff, customers, and supplier for their support over the 14 months that we have been in operation.

“Our final decision to close has been a difficult one, given that we were the proud owner operators of Hartlepool’s only dedicated seafood Restaurant. And sadly, whilst every effort has been made to make the Blu Lobster a success, we feel that such a niche market was just too difficult to be commercially viable.”

The restaurant added any vouchers for Blu Lobster can be refunded or used in Fish Face.
