Brasseria Familia exceeds crowdfunding target for third site

The current investment has been predominantly through the group’s own equity and operational cash flow

Brasseria Familia has exceeded its target for crowdfunding the opening of its third site, raising £1.2m in the first 48 hours.

The company launched the campaign to support the opening of its third site on Brompton Road this May and received 82 investors in the first two days.

After the campaign, new investors will own just over 20% of the Brasseria Family group which will be valued at over £5m.

Those who invest will be entitled to a variety of rewards depending on the size of investment, from a meal for two at the new Brasseria Brompton, to a 25% investor discount for life and 20% discount for any private event hire.

The current investment has been predominantly through the group’s own equity and operational cash flow.

Alongside this the company has received funding from angel investors including restaurateur Simon Woodroffe, founder of YO! Sushi.

Alberto Fraquelli, founder said: “Our immediate focus is to deliver that experiential premium product, in iconic neighbourhoods across London. What my brother and I recognised was that in 2017, there weren’t many brands that were doing an all day, in an Italian environment. At this stage in 2024, we have an empowerment of our people at a site level, that they run the restaurants like they are their own.”
