Channel Islands’ only Michelin-starred restaurant celebrates 15th year
Bohemia, the only Michelin-starred restaurant in the Channel Islands, will celebrate its 15th anniversary on Tuesday 24 April 2018.
The award-winning restaurant opened in 2003 and has held a Michelin star consecutively for the past 13 years, a Channel Island record.
Michelin-starred Steve Smith joined the kitchen as head chef in January 2013 and helped the establishment retain its Michelin Star, as well as gaining Jersey’s first and only 5 AA rosettes rating.
Smith has won a Michelin star five times and has held the accolade for over 20 years.
Bohemia was also ranked as the highest scoring restaurant in the Channel Islands in the Good Food Guide 2018 with a score of eight, as well as being listed overall as the 11th best restaurant in the whole of the UK in the Waitrose guide.
Lawrence Huggler, owner of Bohemia, said: “We are incredibly proud of Bohemia’s success throughout the past 15 years, and especially of Steve Smith’s accolades since joining the restaurant in 2013. A real highlight was being named as one of the top 50 best restaurants in the UK in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants, with our desserts being given a special mention as one of the top ten in the UK!
“Going forward we will keep striving to give our customers the best dining experience possible, and if we achieve that Bohemia will remain at the top of the dining scene in the UK and Jersey, while promoting the amazing produce we have in Jersey.”
