Chef Dan Cox to open first restaurant in Cornwall this February
The venue is set within a historic ban, which has been restored over the course of 12 months from a crumbling shell to a 25-cover dining room and open kitchen
Chef Dan Cox will be opening his first restaurant, Crocadon, on a 120-acre organic farm in St Mellion, Southeast Cornwall on Friday 3 February.
The restaurant, which has been in the making for the past five years, “celebrates the connection” between food and agriculture.
The venue is set within a historic ban, which has been restored over the course of 12 months from a crumbling shell to a 25-cover dining room and open kitchen.
According to Cox, the farm is at the centre of all inspiration as the Crocadon’s menu will use all of its regenerative ingredients.
Before moving to Cornwall, he spent seven years working for the Simon Rogan Group which included helping to establish Simon’s biodynamic farm, alongside time in the kitchen at both L’Enclume and Aulis in the Lake District. He was then appointed executive chef at Fera within Claridges, where he remained for three years.
Crocadon will be open for dinner on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as Saturdays and Sundays for lunch, with plans to open more days a week over time.
The restaurant also has plans for special events and collaborations throughout the year.
