Chotto Matte Soho to close to undergo extensive refurb
The reimagined restaurant will debut a lounge bar, as well new menu additions, reworked cocktails and more
Chotto Matte Soho has announced it will temporarily close as it undergoes a makeover.
After almost 10 years, the flagship will close its doors this July to undergo a full transformation reopening in September 2022
The reimagined restaurant will debut a lounge bar, as well new menu additions, reworked cocktails and more.
Tropical foliage will also be abundant throughout the restaurant, as a nod to the Peruvian landscape.
The Chotto Matte concept is set for a global expansion, amid the company’s aims to open restaurants in various cities across the US and beyond. Confirmed upcoming sites include the likes of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Nashville and Philadelphia, in addition to Manchester in the UK, Doha and Riyadh in the Middle East.
Current sites include the Soho flagship, newly opened Marylebone branch in London, alongside Miami and Toronto.
Chotto Matte’s founder Kurt Zdesar said: “We are always looking to innovate and evolve, from kitchen to design, so after almost 10 years of service it was time to shake things up. Since day one art has been an important feature in all our designs, with graffiti walls and neon artworks.
“Now we are taking it further and implementing it in every aspect of the restaurant. From ceiling structure to the furniture colour palette and shapes, the Soho flagship will be a sneak peek into our future restaurants. We can’t wait for our guests to re-discover Chotto Matte Soho and experience the new features”
