Founders Shamil and Kavi Thakar took inspiration from old Irani cafes in Bombay, which gives Dishoom its “distinctive story”. The new Birmingham branch has been inspired by the city’s history as the “city of a thousand trades.”

Dishes from executive chef Naved Nasir will include the bacon naan breakfast roll, chicken tikka, chilli cheese toast, chicken ruby and keema pau. The restaurant will also feature a Permit Room bar, which will serve cocktails, beers, chai and coolers.
