Hollywood’s Mark Wahlberg to bring burger chain to London

Mark Wahlberg and his brothers Paul and Donnie will be debuting their burger eatery in London’s Covent Garden.

Wahlburger, founded in 2011, currently has 22 chains across America. The new outlet will be at 8-9 James Street.

The first UK site will be a 6,000 sqft, two-storey building and will seat 180 people.

The actor announced the opening in a video on his Twitter account, with a caption which read: “#Wahlburgers is coming to the UK! #London #CoventGarden”

In the video, he said: “Guys, I can finally make this announcement – I am able to announce that Wahlburgers is coming to the UK. We have the best possible location, one of the most visited areas in all of the world, certainly in England. The location is 8-9 James Street, Covent Garden. We will be there this summer.”

David Rawlinson of Restaurant Property, who is the sole agent for the chain in the UK, said: “The concept is interesting, because it’s a really family-oriented restaurant. The burger lives up to the hype – it really is a good, authentic experience.”
