Hora opens in Mayfair

The space features its own bar, kitchen, and DJ booth, making Hora an exceptional venue for memorable events

Mediterranean restaurant Hora has announced that it has opened on Dover Street in Mayfair.

The restaurant is a project by London-based restaurateur Dimitris Lytras, formerly brand director at Hovarda London and group nightlife director at Caprice Holdings, founded in partnership with Alessio Matrone, founder-owner of IT Restaurants, and Pierluigi Montuoro, co-owner and COO.

The kitchen is led by executive chef John Skotidas who has held roles at Hovarda, Mazi, Suzi Tros, and Zephyr in London, as well as Abra Ovata in Athens.

Hora features diverse dining areas, from bar seating to a semi-open kitchen that allows guests to see the chefs. The restaurant also has an open terrace, connected to Dover Street, which will open in the summer.

The second level boasts a private room called Etna, accommodating up to 30 guests seated at a long table or 80 standing, alongside its own bar, kitchen, and DJ booth.

The menu at Hora features Mediterranean seasonality “while pushing creative boundaries”. It includes four signature sections; crudo (raw), flora (vegetable), mare (fish) and farma (meat).

The restaurant’s dessert menu is driven by head pastry chef Asuka Mizushina who aims to blend Western flavours with delicate oriental influences.

Hora also has a cocktail menu, created by its house mixologists, separated into categories; fidelis (faithful), aeqa (sea), terra (earth), ignis (fire), eleva (elevated), and sinepotus (non-alcoholic).
