Lee Westcott to open two restaurants at Birch Selsdon

The rewilding of Birch’s 200 acres of land has been masterminded by designer, maker and environmentalist, Sebastian Cox

Chef Lee Westcott is set to open two restaurants at the Birch Selsdon hotel in south Croydon named Elodie and Vervain.

Westcott will take cues from the estate’s major rewilding project, using the surrounding 200 acres of green space to grow ingredients for foraging and begin an on-site kitchen garden later this year.

Elodie is set to open on 27 April and is Birch’s flagship restaurant. It will include a
seasonal five course tasting menu and rhe100-seat dining room has been cleverly remodelled by Sella Concept.

The restaurant will be open to anyone and will be open between Wednesday and Saturday.

Vervain will open on 13 April and is the hotel’s all day brassiere. The restaurant will be open to members and overnight guests for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

Birch Selsdon is located a short drive away from East Croydon mainline rail station. The remodelled 19th Century mansion is home to 181 bedrooms of all shapes and sizes.

The rewilding of Birch’s 200 acres of land has been masterminded by designer, maker and environmentalist, Sebastian Cox. What was once a golf course is now one of London’s largest rewilding projects.
