Long Chim opens in Soho
Long Chim operates restaurants in Australia and the Middle East, with plans to expand in other parts of the world
The UK’s first ever Bangkok-inspired restaurant Long Chim has opened in Soho, London.
Located on Rupert Street, Long Chim has taken over the ground floor of Hovarda. Long Chim, which means to ‘come and try’, serves accessible menus with authentic dishes inspired by the food stalls and markets of modern Bangkok.
Created by Aaharn Group, Long Chim is a global Thai food group headquartered in Bangkok co-founded by “world renowned” chef David Thompson and entrepreneur Simon Dewhurst in 2012.
Thompson is at the helm of Long Chim’s kitchen, with the menu anchored around his vast knowledge, understanding and interpretation of the dishes that are famous day and night in Bangkok.
These have been honed from decades spent exploring the complex network of alleys and laneways that weave across the city.
Open for dinner, guests will be able to order dishes such as; beef skewers with tamarind and pepper, spicy grilled squid with pickled ginger, cockle salad with smoky chilli paste and thai basil, aromatic curry of monkfish with cucumber relish and tiger prawns baked in vermicelli.
The dishes are also served in a sharing style against the backdrop of hidden Thai elements embedded into wall murals, bottle cabinets, neon signs and projection art.
