Loungers opens fourth Brightside in Rutland
The interior scheme takes inspiration from the 1970s and 80s, caravan interiors, classic road trip movies, and memories of roadside dining
Loungers officially opened its fourth Brightside last Friday (22 November) at the Ram Jam Services in Rutland.
Located alongside the main route from Peterborough to Grantham, Brightside is part of a purpose-built retail development of four units adjacent to an established petrol station and a new bakery.
This opening follows on from the introduction of Brightside Exeter in February 2023, with two other roadside restaurants in Saltash and Honiton having opened in June and August, later that year.
Replicating the interiors from its Devon and Cornwall sites, Loungers intended for visitors to be transported back in time “by a look and feel that is nostalgic and familiar, yet fun and modern”.
The interior scheme takes inspiration from the 1970s and 80s, caravan interiors, classic road trip movies, and memories of roadside dining “and holidays from a bygone era”.
Brightside offers a modern menu of “elevated comfort food with a twist”, including breakfasts, burgers, fish and chips, sourdough pizzas, salad bowls, sundays, cakes and shakes, as well as vegan and gluten-free options.
Charlie Jones, operations manager at Brightside, said: “We are delighted that our Brightside experience, and our unique reinterpretation of roadside dining, is now available for those heading north.
“Brightside Ram Jam is on a popular route, only 15 minutes from Rutland Water which attracts almost 2 million visitors every year. As well as catering to travellers we are also an excellent choice for those who live nearby, so we’re looking forward to meeting lots of locals too.”
