Mowgli to open new Cheltenham site
Subject to the reopening of the hospitality sector, the group is looking to add six sites to its portfolio within the next two years
Mowgli, an Indian restaurant group, has announced its intentions to expand its portfolio with the opening of a Cheltenham site this summer.
The establishment will represent Mowgli’s 12th restaurant and will reportedly create over 30 jobs.
Founded in 2014, Mowgli now operates over a number of sites across the UK, including but not limited to Liverpool, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Nisha Katona, founder of the group, said in an Instagram post that she hopes to make Cheltenham “proud,” continuing the company’s aim to “enrich life in the cities we got to”.
She added: “Out of the ashes of a decimated 2020 we hope to raise this sweet fledging Indian home kitchen in the Brewery Quarter.
“To be able to take Mowgli there, to create over 30 jobs, to find and support a local charity there makes me so proud and reminds me of why we must keep our strength and chin up and march on as bloodied as we are.”
While the group’s Bristol opening has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, Katona confirmed that if the firm’s restaurants are busy enough over the summer it will finish the development of Mowgli Bristol by December 2021.
She added that, subject to the reopening of the hospitality sector, Cheshire Oaks Mowgli, Mowgli Edinburgh, and three more sites in Glasgow, Brighton, and Preston could all open within the next two years.
