New Indian restaurant Ritu to launch in London this July
Ritu will open in St John’s wood this July in the venue formerly known as Yasmeen Kitchen, a restaurant serving traditional Moroccan Cuisine.
A new Indian restaurant is set to open on London’s St John’s Wood this July.
Ritu is inspired by the “distinctive seasons of India” and the “seasonal culinary art” that adapts to the local produce.
It will serve unique dishes, created specifically for this London venue, based on authentic dishes found in India.
All food aims to be of “exceptionally high quality” – with the site also not serving stereotypical Indian dishes served in the West such as Chicken Tikka Masala.
Guests can expect dishes such as Lotus Stem Chaat, Naga Chicken Skewers and Mumbai Classic Bread Rolls.
It will be run by Anubhav Srivastava – an “experienced” restaurateur, who is of Indian heritage but was raised in the UK.
Srivastava said: “Ritu is a project that has been in my mind for a very long time. With the Hospitality Industry about to burst back to life and the availability of this beautiful venue in St John’s Wood, now is the perfect time to turn this dream into a reality. I can’t wait to welcome guests into Ritu and share with them our incredible cuisine.”
In addition, Navin Prasad will work as culinary director, he has 25 years experience in the hospitality sector. In 2012, he left London and spent eight years travelling around India to “understand the richness of the cuisine”.
Prasad said: “My philosophy of cooking is to use the traditional and showcase it in a way accepted today. That is exactly what we have set out to achieve at Ritu.”
