Otto pasta bar to launch first site in Piccadilly

The property will reportedly have 74-covers and will be “stylish and casual”, with the focal point being the pasta bar and open central kitchen

Otto, the london-based pasta delivery company, is set to open its first brick and mortar site in early November 2022. The all-day “pasta bar” will be located in Piccadilly. 

The news of the opening follows the company’s success after michelin-starred chef, Phil Howard, and his business partner, Julian Dyer, initially debuted as an online delivery service in May 2021.

It is reported that Louis Korovilas, who has previously worked at Locanda Locatelli, Pied à Terre, and Bancone, will be the executive chef for the location, while Nicholas Georgoulakis joins as general manager and Harvi Singh as operations manager.

The property will reportedly have 74-covers and will be “stylish and casual”, with the focal point being the pasta bar and open central kitchen. The light-filled space will also have a neutral colour palette, which will evoke a “warm and comfortable” Italian trattoria.  

In addition, founder Phil Howard and restaurateur  Rebecca  Mascarenhas will continue to run Elystan Street, Kitchen W8 and Church Road with all the “passion, care, and attention to detail that has been the hallmark of their successful partnership”. 

Howard’s “love” of pasta is said to shine through in the Otto menu, which boasts delicious, authentic pasta dishes, freshly prepared snacks, starters and desserts, all while using “extraordinarily” good ingredients and recipes.

Furthermore, Otto will reportedly be an affordable and accessible concept, celebrating the simplicity of Italian cuisine.  

Howard said: “It would be fair to say that I have spent my career to date cooking a certain kind of ingredient at a certain kind of price point. I’ve loved it all, and continue to do so, but it is exciting however to have a project that can be delivered without compromise, at a price point that is wholly accessible to all. 

“The fact that pasta is the medium is the icing on the cake and with the fantastic team we have in place the goal is simple: to bring pleasure to fellow Londoners by sharing authentic pasta dishes in a relaxed fun environment.”
