Pizza Pilgrims reopens Victoria site for delivery amid Covid-19 crisis

Pizza Pilgrims has reopened its flagship restaurant in Victoria for delivery, after temporarily closing its doors last month amid the Covid-19 crisis.

In an Instagram post, co-founder James Elliot described the reopening as a “glorious day” before confirming the restaurant will only be operating on Deliveroo and its new Frying Pan Pizza Kits, which the restaurant originally trialled prior to the closure.

While the kits were only available instore, customers nationwide will now be available to purchase them.

Elliot said the company has been working on its systems to make sure employees are social-distancing, wearing gloves adding that PPE and hand sanitiser will be provided. He added everyone working has been given a “budget to get taxis to and from work” to avoid getting on public transport.

The post read: “Very excited to be opening up our first pizzeria again after almost a month of no pizza. Obviously this is just dipping our toe in the waters and opening our Victoria pizzeria for delivery and to launch our Pizza In The Post.”

Pilgrims Pizza was founded in 2012 and currently has 12 sites across London, with one site situated in Oxford.
