Rosa’s Thai Cafe to open first site outside London

Rosa’s Thai Cafe is set to open its doors at its first non-London site located in Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock development on 25 February.
To celebrate the opening, diners will be treated to a soft launch offer of 50% off all food on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 February.
Saiphin Moore and her husband Alex opened the very first Rosa’s on London’s Brick Lane in 2008, and ten years later the restaurant group has expanded across the capital, receiving praise for its authentic Thai ingredients alongside locally-sourced British produce.
Guests at the new Liverpool restaurant can expect Rosa’s favourites such as Salmon red curry through to Stir-fried aubergine with chilli and basil, and Rosa’s famous Pad Thai dish. In its dessert offering Rosa’s will offer a small selection of traditional and refreshing sweets such as mango & sticky rice and coconut cream ice cream.
A dedicated menu of Liverpool specials is planned for later in the year.
Housed within a Grade I listed former warehouse, the new Rosa’s Liverpool restaurant is split over two floors and will host up to 88 seated customers. The interior, curated by design agency Gundry & Ducker, retains the original open brickwork of the building, with huge arches looking out onto the docks, an open theatre kitchen and a mezzanine level aimed at hosting events, birthday parties and private dining.
Paying homage to the Royal Albert Dock and Liverpool surroundings, Rosa’s Thai Cafe takes influences from its waterfront surroundings.
Founder of Rosa’s, Moore, said: “We can’t wait to open our doors in Liverpool and are so excited to become part of the city’s thriving food scene, I’m already working on some Liverpool specials to launch later in the year. As one of the first cities to open up trade links with Asia, we couldn’t think of a better place than Liverpool to open our first restaurant outside of London – especially in a location with such enviable views across the historic Royal Albert Docks.”
Portfolio manager for Aberdeen Standard Investments, Chris Wright, added: “It’s great to be welcoming such an exciting and established London restaurateur to the growing mix of leisure offerings at the Dock. The fact they have chosen Royal Albert Dock as their first outside of London reflects on the evolving line-up we are creating. Rosa’s Thai Cafe will sit perfectly amongst the current selection of Dockside restaurants, and we anticipate a very positive response from all visitors.”
