ScandiKitchen opens second London café in Victoria

ScandiKitchen also runs an e-commerce site delivering more than 1,000 Scandinavian products across the UK, and supplies restaurants and other food businesses via a wholesale arm

Scandinavian café and deli ScandiKitchen has opened a second site in central London, 18 years after launching its flagship store in Fitzrovia.

The new café, located on Buckingham Palace Road in Victoria, follows the same model as the original, offering Scandinavian food for eat-in or takeaway. It opens daily from 7.30am, serving breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day.

Founded by Danish-born Bronte Aurell and her Swedish husband Jonas, the business offers Nordic staples such as open sandwiches, Swedish meatballs, a Scandinavian-style hot dog, cinnamon buns and a rotating selection of salads and daily specials.

Breakfast options include homemade porridge with fruit and berry toppings, overnight oats and traditional cinnamon buns. Lunch features open sandwiches with Nordic smoked salmon, sweet pickled herring or Swedish meatballs, alongside salads such as super slaw and potato salad.

Afternoon treats range from homemade biscuits to cakes such as love cake and dream cake.

ScandiKitchen also runs an e-commerce site delivering more than 1,000 Scandinavian products across the UK, and supplies restaurants and other food businesses via a wholesale arm.

The business began as a response to a gap in the market for Scandinavian cuisine in the capital. The Victoria opening marks the next stage in the company’s growth, as it continues to expand its presence in the capital.

Aurell said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our second café after 18 years. Victoria is a perfect location and we’re excited to bring our take on Scandinavian food to a new audience.”
