Sea Containers London appoints new head chef

Sea Containers has announced the appointment of Tom Morgan as the new head chef, taking over culinary leadership for both Sea Containers Restaurant and the Lyaness Bar.

Born and raised in London, Morgan embarked upon his culinary journey aged 16, quickly ascending from commis chef to chef de partie within three years.

After a tenure in an American restaurant, where he landed a head chef role at the age of 20, Morgan went on to join the innovative social gaming concept, Flight Club.

He quickly rose to the position of executive chef after contributing to four openings, and eventually oversaw the launch of 14 venues in total, as well as opening the first American brand of Electric Shuffle in Dallas.

At Sea Containers Restaurant, it said he will apply his philosophy of “simplicity and quality, focusing on minimal ingredients of the most premium quality” – think English produced broad beans, peas, tomatoes, lamb, chard, and scallops.

Morgan said: “I’m very passionate about the simplicity of cooking, using minimal ingredients to truly highlight the quality of the produce. It’s about letting the natural flavours shine and crafting dishes that are both honest and memorable. I’m excited to now be bringing my skills to Sea Containers and look forward to sharing my vision and passion with the team and guests.”
