Social Bird Newcastle site to open in April

The new restaurant will have a menu of chicken schnitzel, chicken and waffles, and slow-roasted bird, as well as a burger menu

Social Bird has announced it will officially open its new Newcastle site on Fenkle Street on 5 April.

The restaurant promises to deliver a dining experience “unlike any other”, combining a laid-back atmosphere with “an innovative and delicious menu that celebrates local flavours”.

Headed by Ben Watson, the head chef at Social Bird, the new restaurant will have a menu of chicken schnitzel, chicken and waffles, and slow-roasted bird, as well as a burger menu.

Watson said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of the Social Bird team and bring a fresh and exciting dining concept to Newcastle. We have worked closely with local suppliers to create a menu that highlights the best of our region’s ingredients and flavours.

“The involvement of the local community has played a big part in the development of Social Bird, and we can’t wait to share our passion for great food and hospitality with our guests.”

All poultry used by Social Bird will be sourced locally from Soanes Poultry. Other local businesses that supply the restaurant are Tynemouth Coffee Company, Newcastle Gin, Pure Knead, Hadrian’s Border Brewery, Jeans Jams, and Northumberland Cheese Company.
