Social media delivery only restaurant, Twisted London, expands

Twisted London, the delivery only restaurant born from Jungle Creations’ Twisted, which specialises in creating recipe videos for its 20 million followers across social media, has expanded with the launch of five new sites.

The new sites include London-based branches in Bayswater, Gloucester Road, Russell Square, Piccadilly and Edgware Road.

Famed for reverse engineering its restaurant model, the brand found its customers first via social media, discovering the food they want to eat and then delivering it to them. Through its content and recipe videos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, the restaurant has built a following of over 140,000 people and gained an insight into what its customers want to eat.

These insights extend into sustainability and its dining experience as Twisted London’s packaging is designed with transportation in mind and tested for heat and moisture retention. It’s also 100% biodegradable and recyclable whilst its boxes double up as plates and its grease proof paper gives customers a history of the Twisted story.

Twisted London has also engaged in commercial partnerships that allow clients to activate its brands in various ways to reach its online and offline audiences. These include building its own bespoke menu items, delivering its product with every Twisted London meal ordered, and collaborating on social content.

Most recently the company partnered with UberEats for a ‘Pink Wednesday’ activation, that celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Mean Girls movie and included a new menu created for the one day event.

Jamie Bolding, founder and CEO of Jungle Creations, said: “We’re incredibly excited about the expansion of Twisted London. Since the launch of our first branch in east London just over a year ago we’ve been inundated with messages from people around the world asking us when it will be coming to a town near them so we’re thrilled to be launching in five new locations.

“Our brand partnerships have proved hugely successful, which goes to show how much potential this kind of venture has, so we’re planning to do plenty more of this type of collaboration in the near future.”

Twisted’s first offline venture was Twisted: The Cookbook, which launched in 2016, with the sequel set for release in September this year. In 2017 Twisted launched its first London site, which was followed by a Twisted Bar Pop-Up in 2018 with which Baileys partnered with them to create an exclusive cocktail. There are plans to expand the delivery only restaurant to all major cities in the UK.
