Taiwan dumpling chain Din Tai Fung to open London restaurant

Taiwanese dumpling chain Din Tai Fung has announced it is to open a London restaurant based on Covent Garden’s Henrietta Street.

The 250-cover restaurant will become the chan’s first outside of Asia, with plans for a second London restaurant on Tottenham Court Road already in motion. The chain, which described London as the “foodie capital of the world” will serve its signature xiaolongbao dishes made from ingredients imported directly from Taiwan.

Din Tai Fung’s hand prepared food follows a 40-minute six step process carried out by its teams of Dian Xin dim sum chefs. The brand has been in existence for almost half a century with its signature dishes winning its restaurants many accolades including Michelin stars.
