Thaikhun to open new Trafford Centre site

With restaurants already located across nine different cities across the UK, including Newcastle, Oxford, Southampton and Glasgow, the new location will expand the group’s offering, making it the first of its kind to have a buffet

Thaikhun has announced that it is set to open a new street food style restaurant in The Trafford Centre on 26 September 2021.

With restaurants already located across nine different cities across the UK, including Newcastle, Oxford, Southampton and Glasgow, the new location will expand the group’s offering, making it the first of its kind to have a buffet.

Traditional Thai décor will feature throughout the new site including tuk tuk tables, boat seats and a Buddhist shrine, for staff to worship.

Ahead of its official opening, the restaurant has partnered with food app, Too Good to Go, to tackle food waste in the city. This service will provide customers the opportunity to buy a “magic bag” containing food that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Kim Kaewkraikhot, owner, said: “At our first of its kind buffet restaurant, we will offer customers the freedom to make the experience their own by picking exactly what they want and in their own time.

“Our attitude is all geared towards creating a fun and inclusive environment for our customers to enjoy great food, and The Trafford Centre will be no different. We are looking forward to having a new customer base that will join our Thaikhun journey.”
