The Providores to close after 18 years
London restaurant, The Providores has announced it is to close at the end of July after 18 years in business on Marylebone High Street.
The restaurant’s owners Peter Gordon and Michael McGrath said they had closed the restaurant in order to “pursue other personal projects and travel and relax after working our socks off for 18 years”.
A statement from the restaurant, read: “After almost 18 fabulous years on Marylebone High Street, Michael and Peter have made the decision to close on 31st July.
“As the restaurant that launched the flat white, Turkish Eggs, small plate dining, Kiwi-style brunches, a NZ-only wine list, Fusion dishes and so much more, (along with mentoring many chefs and FOH staff who themselves now run successful businesses in London and around the world), the guys have decided it’s time to have a break.
“So you’ve only got limited time to come in and have a coffee, some wine, a tasty scallop and sweet chilli sauce, a cheese scone, bowl of laksa, a passion fruit mojito, baobab smoothie, a glass of New Zealand Sav or Pinot. We hope to see you soon.”
