UberEats partners with Michelin starred chef Simon Rogan

The number 51 is particularly significant, as it refers to 51 years since organic certification was introduced in the UK

UberEats, in the latest iteration of its Hosts series, has partnered with Michelin starred chef Simon Rogan to launch one of its “most sustainable” menus in the UK.

The menu has been developed solely using ingredients grown on Rogan’s farm, ‘Our Farm’, in the Cartmel Valley in the Lake District and the surrounding area, alongside meat, fish and dairy sourced from local suppliers.

The same farm supplies Rogan’s eponymous three Michelin starred L’Enclume which also holds a coveted Michelin Green star, awarded to restaurants at the forefront of the industry in terms of their sustainable practices.

The exclusive Uber Eats menu consists of five courses, with snacks consisting of a Park House Pudding glazed in birch sap, a Chicken Offal Doughnut, and Diana Radishes with Lovage Emulsion, followed by a salad containing 51 ingredients from Rogan’s Cartmel Valley farm ‘Our Farm’   including a Bay Shrimp custard with shrimp from nearby Morecambe Bay.

The number 51 is particularly significant, as it refers to 51 years since organic certification was introduced in the UK.

The menu is set to be Uber Eats’ “most sustainable” takeaway menu yet in the UK, with fully biodegradable packaging created from seaweed and manufactured by an Earthshot Prize winning company. The food itself will be transported via electric van from Cartmel to London and the majority of the deliveries to customers will be fulfilled by either bicycles or e-bikes.

Rogans restaurants hold eight Michelin stars worldwide and two Michelin Green Stars.

Rogan, said: “I’m delighted to be partnering with Uber Eats to shine a light on some of the very best produce we’re able to grow and source in this country, most of which I’m proud my team and I have produced on our very own Lake District farm.

“My cooking philosophy has always been influenced by the natural environment, while sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do. Uber Eats have truly gone above and beyond to match this ethos with this project.”

Matthew Price, general manager UK, Ireland and Northern Europe at UberEats, added: “Delighted to be teaming up with Simon Rogan in our latest instalment of Uber Eats Hosts that sees us bring hard to access dining experiences to your doorstep.

“We jumped at the chance to work with such a celebrated chef to create our most sustainable takeaway menu yet in the UK. I can’t wait for our customers to try the 51 ingredient salad, it is a truly special dish, not to mention the specially sourced Heritage Breed Beef Short Rib from The Lake District which stands at the centre of the menu.”
