Wagamama reopens five London restaurants

It said the re-openings demonstrate Wagamama’s ‘confidence’ after the lockdowns and the need to meet demand

Wagamama has announced the reopening of five London restaurants that temporarily closed due to the pandemic.

Following government advice the capital, as well as other major cities and towns, has been quiet as most people worked from home. Now, after months of “increased demand” at Wagamama’s other central London restaurants, it said it has taken the decision as “significant numbers” are set to return to work.

In the city and central London, restaurants at Moorgate (reopened on 26 Jan) and Holborn (14 Feb) will fully reopen after they were forced to close. Moorgate, which has 160 covers, closed nearly two years ago when the first lockdown was announced.

It said the re-openings demonstrate Wagamama’s “confidence” after the lockdowns and the need to meet demand.

Wagamama senior regional marketing manager Sita Dobbs said: “we’re so excited to welcome our loyal guests back to our benches at some of our most loved London restaurants. We’ve seen such an incredible demand for our nourishing bowls in London with the return of office workers and the city coming back to full swing again.

“Our teams can’t wait to greet our locals again in City Point (Moorgate), where we’ll be meeting the demand for Wagamama, reopening for dine-in, delivery and click + collect. Equally our iconic Holborn restaurant and local favourite Hampstead reopening for dine-in are just two more of our beloved London locations where we’re excited to open our benches up once more.”

She added: “We know these are firm favourites for their lively lunches and evening destinations for our fans to grab a bite to eat in the city. These reopenings are brilliant news locally and our teams have been training and working hard to bring our famous benches and warming bowls back to these all important locations.”
