Sailor’s Arms in Newquay reopens after £1.9m refurbishment

Both the pub and the club area have been renovated, with the addition of booths, new light and sounds systems and even new heated terraces with seaside views

Sailor’s Arms pub in Newquay has recently reopened its doors following a £1.9m refurbishment for both the pub and club.

The new venue has undergone a complete transformation of the bar with the addition of contemporary seating, lighting and booths with individual TV screens. The pub is also rolling out a new schedule: Wednesday nights will be dedicated to live music while Fridays and Saturdays will play host to the sounds of John London

In addition, new spacious heated terraces have been introduced to boast Newquay Bay views from which the newly updated menu can be enjoyed during lunch or dinner time.

The Sailor’s club has also seen some renovations, with the installation of state-of-the-art sound and light systems, the addition of a series of VIP booths for special occasions and the introduction of new drink choices, including no and low alcohol options.

The recent investment in the venue will also see the creation of 25 new jobs.

General manager Chris Hancock said: “Sailor’s has always had a great reputation as the place to enjoy friendly hospitality in Newquay. I am absolutely delighted that we now have a fantastic showcase venue in which our guests and visitors to Newquay can experience great hospitality in both our bar and club areas. 

“We have a unique position a stone’s throw away from the beach affording us stunning views from our terraces. Our newly refurbished club regains its spot as the best place to dance the night away in our magical, and vibrant club atmosphere.”
