Stonegate Pub Company has appointed Mark Davies as a new non-executive director.
Davies is the CEO of Primary Health Properties, the FTSE 250 UK real estate investment trust, and a non-executive director of Palace Capital, a regional focused REIT.
He was previously a co-founder and CEO of NewRiver REIT and Hawthorn Community Pub Company which was sold to Admiral Taverns in 2021.
He was also a non-executive director of the British Beer and Pub Association from 2020-2022.
His appointment comes at a time of “significant progress” for Stonegate as the group progresses with its operational improvement initiatives, including its asset optimisation programme, reviewing its entire estate on a site-by-site basis to ensure that customers have the right pub in the right format to serve their communities.
Regarding his appointment, Davies said: “Stonegate is a business that communities around the UK interact with on a daily basis, I’m looking forward to working with the board to help ensure that our portfolio serves these communities, and the group’s wider stakeholders, in the best possible way.”
David McDowall, CEO of Stonegate Pub Group, added: “I’m delighted to be working with Mark as part of the board, his expertise in managing large property portfolios will be invaluable to the board and the group as we progress with our asset optimisation programme. His appointment adds to a real sense of momentum at Stonegate.
“We’ve evolved our executive management team, we’re progressing with our strategy, the economic environment is improving and we’re well positioned for the upcoming Summer of sport.”
