Stonegate Group invests £1m in new concept Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom

The investment has been used to transform the former Walkabout site in Leeds into a ‘beerhall for cocktail lovers’

Stonegate Group has invested £1m in a new concept, Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom, to open in Leeds.

The investment has been used to transform the former Walkabout site in the city centre into a “beerhall for cocktail lovers”. The aim is to make the venue popular for its seven day a week programme of live music and entertainment.

Named after the popular margarita, Rita’s will offer pizzas, a range of margarita cocktails and a selection of beers.

Due to open before Christmas, the venue will offer live music, live sports and big event screenings. Customers will be seated around large, “sociable” beer hall tables, whilst a beer garden will also provide outside space.

David McDowall, CEO of Stonegate Group, said: “In the past few years, the way in which guests socialise has rapidly changed. Going out remains a real priority, but guests are going out at different times and searching for engaging, entertaining venues, and new types of experiences.

“We can’t wait to welcome this first-of-its-kind venue to Leeds, a city where Rita’s will really shine. The opportunity within the former Walkabout site was too good to miss, with plenty of space to do the Rita’s concept justice. Our team has had real fun with this one and can’t wait to welcome our first guests.”
