The Crown at Chislehurst reopens after £1.4m refurb

The pub has also refurbished its seven boutique bedrooms, some of which include private balconies

The Crown at Chislehurst has reopened its doors following a £1.4m transformation by independent family brewer and pub company Shepherd Neame.

Set in the London Borough of Bromley, the pub, which dates back to 1874, has undergone a major 12-week renovation to retain its “unique character while introducing a contemporary look and feel”.

A new bespoke bar topped with aged brass forms the centrepiece and feature leathers, classic modern fabrics and rich timbers have been used throughout the remodelled interiors.

The pub has also refurbished its seven boutique bedrooms, some of which include private balconies.

Each of the en-suite rooms offers a pocket-sprung mattress, a drench shower, a Roberts digital radio and a

Nespresso coffee machine, along with a flat-screen Smart TV and complimentary high-speed WiFi.
The Imperial Crown feature room also features a roll-top bath.

The Crown said that to coincide with its new look, a new menu has been created, using the “finest seasonal produce to refine and reimagine British pub classics with a modern twist”.

Jonathon Swaine, Shepherd Neame’s managing director of pubs, said: “We are delighted to unveil this stylish transformation of The Crown. It is an incredible venue in a unique location, and this project has allowed us to ensure that it can reach its full potential.

“It represents a significant investment not just in The Crown but also in the surrounding area, supporting local suppliers and contractors. We are very proud of the finished results and can’t wait to welcome our customers back so they can see just how much The Crown has to offer as a unique destination to drink, dine and stay.”
