Compass Group UK&I has acquired CH&CO, which will see the catering company’s portfolio of brands – including Gather and Gather, Vacherin and Company of Cooks – join Compass’ group of companies. CH&CO has operations covering workplace catering, events, venues, visitor attractions, stadiums, education, healthcare and hospitality.
Greene King will invest £40m in developing a new brewery in Bury St Edmunds. The proposed new brewery forms a key part of the company’s transformation programme, as it’s directly in line with the strategic driver of optimising the company’s assets. It will be located next to Greene King’s new distribution centre and will improve the sustainability of the company’s brewing operations.
The hospitality sector has seen administrations double in the year-to-date, a recent report by Shakespeare Martineau for the NTIA has revealed. From April 2023 to March 2024 there were 193 administrations in the sector, spelling an 11% rise from the same period in 2022/23 where hospitality-related collapses only made up 5% of total cases.
Rhubarb Hospitality Collection has refurbished its Fenchurch Restaurant, located on the 37th floor of the Sky Garden building. The interiors have been reimagined to reflect head chef Kerth Gumb’s Caribbean roots and “playful approach” to fine dining.
