Scottish hospitality saw a 33% rise in sales during Scotland’s Euros matches, with high street pubs benefiting the most from an average 74% rise in sales. According to CGA by NIQ data, the day of Scotland’s game vs Switzerland generated the biggest boost in sales, rising 28% compared with last year.
Market Taverns appointed consumer analyst Nigel Parson as director. Parson, who brings a wealth of expertise with his combination of business and City experience, specialises in equity research in the consumer sector. His appointment follows the recent appointment of Suzanne Baker as non-executive director.
Restaurant Associates has started a catering partnership with the Design Museum in London. Under this new partnership, Restaurant Associates will provide bespoke catering services for the museum restaurant and café spaces, as well as for a variety of events, from corporate functions to private parties.
Red Engine will launch a flagship Electric Shuffle bar in New York City on 12 July. Located in the NoMad district, the multi-million-pound investment occupies 10,000 sq ft of Manhattan real estate on the second floor next to the Virgin Hotel. The new Electric Shuffle location joins Red Engine’s other brand Flight Club in the city.
