Welcome Break has seen 2023 profits rise by 7% to £72.7m. The operator of service stations with F&B outlets and hotels attributed its performance to the peak trading of the holiday period from June to September 2023, when many sites and units broke their weekly trading records.
Edinburgh hospitality will benefit from a major rise in sales thanks to Edinburgh Fringe. This is expected off the back of last year’s data, which shows that the city welcomed almost 250,000 people to its festivals, which helped deliver a 30% rise in average daily sales for hospitality venues compared with the rest of the year.
Glasgow’s The Croft Bar and Restaurant has been brought to market for £1.35m. Located on Lugar Place, Lisini Pub Company’s venue has a “reputation” among locals and the wider community for its food and drink offering, as well as its sports showings and entertainment. The pub was established in 1991.
Riva Blu will open a new site at The Springs Leeds. The Italian restaurant’s interiors will feature plush teal accents and provide guests with an open kitchen, cocktail bar and al fresco terrace area. Cocktails will be inspired by the region’s “lively ambiance”, such as Negroni and Aperol Spritz as well as a selection of wines, beers, and spirits.
