Adnams chairman Jonathan Adnams has stepped down due to health reasons. The news comes after he initially informed members of his possible retirement at the company’s last Annual General Meeting. As a result, the board “unanimously” agreed that Simon Townsend will step in on an interim basis as non-executive chairman. 

Some 80% of consumers believe that all tips and service charges should go to staff, according to survey findings from RSM. Despite this, only a fifth (20%) believe that hospitality staff receive 100% of the tips from customers. The new Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 will make it unlawful for businesses to hold back service charges from staff.

Brother Marcus has opened its largest location to date in The Yards, Covent Garden. The modern Eastern Mediterranean, which was founded by Alex Large and Tasos Gaitanos, occupies 4,190 sq ft across two floors and includes two terraces overlooking St Martin’s Courtyard.
