SSP revenues are anticipated to reach £3bn for the year, spelling a 37% year-on-year increase and an EBITDA of £280m. This was due to recovery in passenger numbers, along with a stronger customer offer and digital presence. North America remains a key driver, while the UK and Ireland are expected to strengthen sales despite rail sector challenges. CEO Patrick Coveney also sees continued growth opportunities.

Adnams’ operating losses widened to £2.4m in H1 due to rising input costs, causing the pub operator’s sales to match the previous year’s figure of £30m. Q1 saw subdued sales amid inflation, but sales improved in Q2 with better weather. The group’s hotels and pubs performed well in terms of room occupancy, but lower footfall in coastal areas affected food and beverage sales. Meanwhile, sales to supermarkets have become a larger part of the company’s output.
