Drinks sales at pubs and bars stayed level year-on-year, with a small 0.1% fall for the week ended 17 February, to continue a solid start to February trading, according to data from CGA. Sales on Valentine’s Day, a crucial trading date for operators and suppliers, were 9% higher than on 14 February 2023.
Levy UK&I has announced a 10-year extension of its partnership with Sheffield United FC. As part of the contract extension, Levy will continue to manage all catering operations, including matchday hospitality, public concessions, corporate and non-matchday events, such as concerts. The 10-year extension will see further investment at the stadium, which boasts the recent launch of its ‘1889 Suite’.
Siren Craft Brew will open its new taproom and restaurant at Reading’s Station Hill mixed-use development in May this year. Siren has signed a 15-year lease for a 3,800 sq ft space on Friars Walk and will offer its range of locally produced ales, porters and lagers.
The Redgarth Inn in Oldmeldrum, Inverurie, has hit the market for the first time in 34 years for an undisclosed amount. The inn has been cared for by the owner Stuart Singer, who reluctantly plans to retire, and offers a new owner a unique opportunity to mix work and a rural lifestyle.
