Today’s news in brief – 27/06/24

Comptoir Group has made some changes to its board of directors, following non-executive chair Beatrice Lafon’s resignation yesterday (26 June) to “pursue other business interests”. As a result, current non-executive director Jean-Michel Orieux, who held that role since August 2022, will succeed Lafon as chair of the board with immediate effect. 

Trust Inns has acquired the White Hart pub in Tongham, Surrey. The property boasts a lounge bar and restaurant featuring wooden beams and a fireplace, as well as a sports bar, beer garden and extensive car park. It is listed as an Asset of Community Value and will remain a tenanted pub under Trust Inns’ ownership.

The O2 has introduced self-serve bars, powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology. Building on the already successful deployment of self-order kiosks and self-pour drink stations within the arena, this technology is designed to reduce queues. The O2 is also planning to open additional self-serve bars in the future.

Donutelier is set to join Carnaby Street later this year. The bakery will open the 1,300 sq ft space in the coming months, serving its array of doughnuts and pastries. Carefully curated creations include Dulcey Pecan, Black Forest, and Vanilla Cookie Cream, which will be available at the Carnaby Street store alongside a range of croissants and Danish pastries.
