UKH has called the changes to the LPC remit for 2025 “disruptive and unhelpful”, claiming that wages rates must strike an “affordable balance to help deliver growth for both businesses and staff”. The Low Pay Commission has also been ordered to narrow the gap between the minimum wage rate for 18-20 year olds and the national minimum wage.

Turtle Bay has seen FY sales rise 6.1% to a record high of £93.7m. According to the group, it managed to bounce back “quicker and stronger” following the pandemic “unlike many of its competitors”. Regionally, the group experienced a stronger performance in the North of England, the South Coast area and the South West than in the Midlands and London

The Snowfox Group has rebranded to the Wonderfield Group. The international Japanese food business’ new identity comes after its acquisition by Japanese food group Zensho in June 2023 for $621m (£483.69m). It employs over 5,500 team members across 16 countries and supplies over 7,000 stores and 9,000 kiosks.

Debut restaurant AngloThai will open in autumn in partnership with MJMK Restaurants. Following on from a number of pop-ups and residencies, the husband and wife team John and Desiree Chantarasak will bring their take on Thai-British cuisine with a European focused wine list to their first bricks and mortar site on Seymour Place in Marylebone.
